Join us for The Clean Energy for Homes Conference & Trade Show, hosted February 13-14, 2024, in Saratoga Springs, New York. This two-day event, offered by the Building Performance Association, provides regional education for those working in the state of New York and in surrounding states.

Earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from allied organizations when you attend conference sessions and workshops. Continuing education credits can be accredited through our allied organizations, including BPI (including QCI, HHE, and EA), InterNACHI, NARI, and NATE.

Both days of the conference feature a trade show, giving you a look at ways to expand your business, show off new technology and products, and make new connections. Plus, you’ll meet other attendees who understand the work you do every day.

NYSERDA, the Host Sponsor, is offering a $100 discount for New York State businesses and residents for the first 200 registrations. Use the code NYSTATE100 to apply the discount. You must use the discount code at time of registration to be receive the discount.

 The Total Building Performance (TBP) Certificate of Knowledge, a new credential from Building Performance Institute to promote deep energy retrofits, is available now. The TBP will show that workers have the knowledge to plan, assist, and guide residential deep energy retrofit projects to reduce energy consumption by 50% or more.

The TBP covers 8 areas of knowledge needed for a deep energy retrofit. It offers a solid base of knowledge for certificate holders to develop a new line of business and establish trust with customers. The pilot exam is free to the first 500 candidates.

NYSERDA is offering free online Building Electrification Training through the Steven Winter Associates’ SWA Academy, a user-paced learning platform. There are three standalone courses on topics related to the electrification of space heating in residential buildings. 

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available for each training.  

Who Should Take These Courses:  
Contractors | Architects | Engineers | Developers | Consultants | Building Operators | Researchers | Policy Professionals | Students | Other Industry Professionals 

These courses are free of charge for New York State residents and employees of New York State businesses (fees may apply if you are a non-resident). The first step is to register for the training series, using the “NYSERDA Enrollment” link on the website, found here:  Register Today

Each week in May and June, staff from the Residential Energy Assessment (REA) and EmPower/AHP Programs will hold Office Hours to field questions on the NY Home Energy Portal (NYHEP). Each office hour session will cover a specific topic, please make sure you are registering for a session that covers your training needs. Participating contractors should bring their “How do I…“ questions on modeling, forms/reports, homework assignments, etc. to be prepared for the transition to the NY HEP in June. For the first three Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. ET for the month of May the Comfort Home team will be hosting a training series about Compass. Each week we will cover a new stage of the project life cycle. The first in the series will cover basics, navigation, terminology of Compass and how to submit an assessment start to finish. The second training will cover how to submit a load reduction install and the final one will cover how to submit a HVAC install.

Week 1: Compass Basics + How to Submit an Assessment
