New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) invites interested parties to join a webinar to learn about a new multifamily contractor network – the Multifamily Residential Energy Pathways Participating Contractor Network.
 

Multifamily Contractor Application Training
Date: Monday, October 28, 2024
Time: 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. ET

The new network is expected to be a roster of highly qualified firms and organizations who work directly with developers, building owners, and their representatives to plan and implement energy efficiency and carbon reduction projects in multifamily buildings. Participation in this network will enable contractors to be eligible for several multifamily programs, including the forthcoming multifamily programs to administer the Inflation Reduction Act’s Home Energy Rebates (IRA programs). Energy Assessors, Clean Heat Installers, and Participating Contractor Installers (including, General Contractors, Electricians, and Plumbers) are all new eligible service categories for this network.
The training will provide an overview of the IRA programs, the application process for new participants, and a shortened application process that participants in existing contractor networks may be eligible for.

On May 3, 2024, Program provided an overview of the upcoming Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) offering. It is expected that the funding through the early enablement section of the IRA Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program will be available in late May or early June; however, these dates remain tentative. If you missed the webinar, you can access it, along with a frequently asked questions document, here.  

The webinar covered the following topics: 

• General IRA overview/estimated funding 
• Eligibility updates 
• Program process changes  
• Cost effectiveness criteria 

Over the next few weeks, NYSERDA will be updating Program materials, webpages, marketing materials and the NY Home Energy Portal (NYHEP) in preparation for the launch of the IRA HEAR offering.  

NYSERDA will be providing Contractor/Hub trainings on the following dates:

The NY Home Energy Portal, formally referred to as the Residential Market Engagement System (RMES), is a new online platform NYSERDA is implementing in Spring 2023. Get to know the platform now by watching the recorded NY Home Energy Portal demonstration and see how the platform can help manage your projects. Additionally, important information on the NY Home Energy Portal was covered in the January 6 and February 3 contractor webinars. Contractors are required to view these webinars if they were not present.

In-person Training Sessions – Invite Only

In-person sessions are limited to two seats per contractor. Contractors have been preassigned to locations. The designated Program lead will be notified by email with the following information:

• Names of the two most active NY HP Portal users in your company. This can be used to help you identify the best staff to participate in the in-person session.
• Registration link via SignUpGenius.

Virtual Training Sessions

If you cannot attend the in-person session or would like additional staff members to be trained, there will be live virtual sessions. For the virtual sessions, there is unlimited seating and sessions are available to all staff who want to be trained. Please register using the links below.

The NY Home Energy Portal, formally referred to as the Residential Market Engagement System (RMES), is a new online platform NYSERDA is implementing in Spring 2023. Get to know the platform now by watching the recorded NY Home Energy Portal demonstration and see how the platform can help manage your projects. Additionally, important information on the NY Home Energy Portal was covered in the January 6 and February 3 contractor webinar. Contractors are required to view these webinar if they were not present.

In-person sessions are limited to two seats per contractor. Contractors have been preassigned to locations. The designated Program lead will be notified by email with the following information:

• Names of the two most active users in the company of the NY HP Portal. This can be used to help identify the best staff to participate in the in-person session.
• Registration link via SignUpGenius.

Virtual Training Sessions

If you cannot attend the in-person session or would like additional staff members to be trained, there will be live virtual sessions. For the virtual sessions, there is unlimited seating and sessions are available to all staff who want to be trained. Please register using the links below.

The Tech Services team also includes information in their autoreply and voicemails directing contractors on who to go to if they have an emergency or to reach out to contractor support for non-emergency matters and someone will get back to them after the holiday. If there is an emergency that requires assistance from Shared Services, please contact Lindsay Huba-Zhang at 518-598-3573, otherwise non-emergency matters will be responded to after the holiday.
