Project Completion & Testing Out
After all of the measures have been installed, the project can be tested out. At this point the house should meet BPI Health & Safety Standards. With the customer present, review each item on the contract and answer any questions that arise. All manuals and maintenance requirements for appliances and HVAC equipment should be conveyed to the customer. Obtain signatures on the Certificate of Completion page and confirm that, if applicable, the loan documents have been signed and returned to EFS.
Documents that Require Signatures:
- Home Performance Eligibility Summary Report (sample CRM Section 8.1b)
- Customer & Contractor Sign Section 5. Certificate of Completion- Read and Sign after Work is Completed
- Final Loan Paperwork (if applicable)
- NY HPwES Post-Installation Health and Safety Test Results (Certificate of Completion)
A couple of weeks after the project has been completed, the contractor should follow-up with the homeowner to ensure that they are satisfied. This also provides an opportunity to fix any issues if there are problems. Since happy customers can lead to new business, provide them with clear directions on how to promote your business if interested (e.g. referrals, testimonials, social media reviews).
